This poster was part of Type&Text Roots, where the task was to create a typographic poster based on one’s own roots. The poster was exhibited in Brisbane, Australia, in April 2024 and in Tarnów, Poland, in July 2025.
The poster represents the contrasts between the Danish concept “hygge”, which hold the meaning of together- and coziness and is highly used in the Danish language, and the feeling of coldness and arrogance Denmark is often viewed as by visitors due to our need for personal space. Often, we tend to view ourselves as more open than we are. My poster, therefore, strive to visualise truth of us Danes and how we tend to suffocate the “hygge”.
For this project, I worked with photography and minimal digital manipulation.
